I don't know about you, but I do a lot of online shopping and I think many many people do a majority of their shopping this way. Online shopping is convenient, easy and doesn't require you to change out of your pajamas or leave the house. But there are a few things you should know when shopping online.
Use Paypal to protect yourself from credit card theft and from fraudulent vendors. Paypal has a fantastic policy to protect consumers and their information and Paypal also reimburses you for products not being received or for lost and faulty merchandise.
Paypal also gives better exchange rates than most credit cards when paying in different currencies.
Shop on Reputable Sites
When you come across any retail sites that you have not heard of do a quick google search online of any reviews for that site. If no searches come up for those companies/sites then stay away! Even if they have an Instagram account it could be a scam.
If the model in the photo is using her arms to cover more than a 1/3 of the garment then that garment most likely has some problems with it like fit or structure.
Most models are 5'7" up, so use the model as a guide on what the length and fit will be on you. If the dress is short on the model and you are the same height or so then that dress will be a napkin on you!
What I Do Buy and Don't Buy
I rarely buy shoes, jeans, bras or underwear online because those things need to fit a certain way to be comfortable so trying them in store is best, but if you already know your sizes in them then by all means.
I frequently buy workout pants, tops, vests, sweaters, dresses and leggings online because these things can be altered for the most part or these things are not too form fitting to have the fit be a major concern.
I try not to buy SUPER TRENDY clothing online until I have tried the same trend on in an actual store. Sometimes you like a trend on someone else but it won't necessarily look the way you wanted to on you. So try on a trend in store to see if you like it first.
